Thierry Henry has defended his past criticism of Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.sbo666
The 24-year-old England international completed a deadline day move from Arsenal for a reported £35m last summer in a bid to play in a central role at Anfield like one of his idols, Steven Gerrard.
Throughout his final season Oxlade-Chamberlain was deployed as a utility man, which led to Henry questioning what he brings to the table.
The Portsmouth-born footballer then hit back and labelled the comments made by the Arsenal legend "stupid", considering they worked together.
Henry, in a conversation with Sky Sports, has now clarified those comments.
"Oxlade-Chamberlain deserves praise for what he's done during his short time at Liverpool so far," he said.
"But we didn't see that clearly at Arsenal. At Arsenal, there has always been a lot of debate as to what Oxlade-Chamberlain's best position is. One day he was a wing back, one day he was a left winger, one day a right winger and on another a number 10.
